Study of reducing memory capacity in Feedforward Driving by using image compression (Electronic Information Displays)

Abstract(in English) We are just studying reduction of frame memory for Feedforward Driving(FFD) which is response speed improvement technology of a liquid crystal display. This time, we compared FFD using image compression for reduction of memory capacity (Compression FFD:cFFD) with FFD using quantization (Quantization FFD:qFFD). As a result, the evaluation revealed that in qFFD an error concentrated on a low frequency, and it caused false contour, but in cFFD an error diffused in a high frequency, and no false contour was generated. According to a characteristic of an error, it was confirmed that cFFD was more superior in the light of visual appreciation than qFFD.
