Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) The calculated reflectance of xerographic prints considering multi-reflection did not correspond well with the measured one probably due to light scattering in the colorant layers. The reflectance increase affected by scattering is ten times larger than the measured scattering intensity for the colorant layer formed on a transparent film. Assuming that the contribution of scattering increases for reflection prints, I have calculated the effect of the scattering on the reflectance of the images consisting of a colorant layer on a transparent or diffuse support. In the calculations, scattering, absorption and multi-reflection in the colorant layer were considered. The result revealed that the reflectance increase caused by scattering at the colorant layer of no absorption superimposed on the diffuse support is estimated to be about 20~30 times as large as that on the transparent one, substantially due to multi-reflection both of the incident and scattered light.
