Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) This paper presents a wideband plate-monopole antenna appropriate for the edge-mount on the ground-plane. Characteristics of the antenna with the size of 6^*14^*1.6[mm^3] are mainly analyzed by using the EM simulator "MW-Studio.Ver.4.0". The simulated results show that the antenna has flat impedance characteristics over wide frequency band excluding the odd mode resonance of the element. When the antenna is operated only in the even mode, the wide impedance bandwidth covering from 2GHz to 10GHz is obtained. Even when the antenna is operated with odd mode, wide fractional bandwidth over 40% around 3GHz is obtained for the feeding impedance Z_0=50, 100[Ω]. The input impedance is not critical for ground-plane size, however, degradation at the lower frequencies are not negligible for the narrow ground-plane of which width is around 20[mm].
