Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Multi-Input Multi-Output (MIMO) systems, which utilize multiple antennas at both the receiver and transmitter, promise very high data rates in a rich scattering environment. It was proven in literature that with optimal power allocation, MIMO eigenmode transmission system (EMTS) is optimal because MIMO capacity is maximized. However, no empirical results regarding the performance of MIMO EMTS have been published so far. Thus, as a first step towards filling this important gap between theory and practice, we will present preliminary experimental results for MIMO-EMTS with power and modulation adaptation in this paper. Furthermore, practical problems faced during the implementation will also be identified and discussed.
