Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) MC-CDMA has been attracting considerable attention for future broadband mobile communications due to its robustness against delay and its high bandwidth efficiency in the multi-cell environment. In the uplink, however, the asynchronous reception of each user's OFDM symbols and the inter-code interference (ICI) caused by the independent frequency-selective fading channel of each user result in multiple access interference (MAI). In this report, we evaluate the ICI in frequency-selective fading channels on uplink MC-CDMA. At first, we derive theoretical expressions for the desired-to-undesired signal power ratio (DUR) as ICI for arbitrary spreading sequences and validate them by comparison with computer simulations using a Walsh-Hadamard code. Based on the results of a theoretical analysis, we calculate the optimum spreading sequence that maximizes the performance of uplink MC-CDMA. Two symbol combining methods are examined : equal gain combining (EGC) and maximum ratio combining (MRC).
