Abstract(in English) | A radial line slot antenna that uses a double-layer dielectric is designed. The equivalent permittivity of a double-layer dielectric in a parallel-plate waveguide is found by solving a transcendental equation. The estimated transmission loss is discussed. The scattering matrix of the analysis model is calculated by a finite element method simulator. The coupling and slow wave factors are then calculated from the scattering matrix. The predicted directional gain is 35.3dBi (aperture efficiency 71%). This is almost the same level as radial line slot antennas that use PTFE as dielectric. The measured directional gain is 34.7dBi (aperture efficiency 62%) at center frequency and reasonable agreement is observed. |
