Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Dielectric resonator antennas (DRA) are studied for millimeter wave applications required for broadband telecommunication systems. To investigate the effect of dielectric constant of DRAs to radiation characteristics in millimeter wave band, calculation and measurement of radiation characteristics with dielectric constant of 2, 4, 8, 12, 16, 32 and 64 are carried out. Radiation characteristics were measured to a scale model of DRA with dielectric constant of 2.1 and 12. In the results, the impedance characteristics depend on dielectric constant significantly. Wide band characteristics appeared on models with dielectric constant of 8 to 16. Dependency of dielectric constant was small on the radiation pattern and directivity of DRAs.
