Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) The characteristics of a new type of multiband planar antennas using fractal microstrip antenna were investigated in this study. The basic techniques for desgning of an antenna are also presented in this paper. Two types of multiband sierpinski microstrip antenna were fabricated and tested at the C-band and X-band to estimate the performance of the antennas. The results of experiment showed that the test antennas have excellent performance in terms of both radiation patterns and impedance characteristics. The experimental pattern of the test antenna agreed well with the computed results obtained from IE3D simulator. This type of antenna is therefore thought to be an effective model for a multiband low-profile antenna.
