Abstract(in English) | A method is proposed for measuring liquid crystal response time using a microstrip-line inductive coupled ring resonator by direct microwave detection of resonance peaks. In this paper, the response time characteristics for two kinds of the nematic liquid crystals' layers which have the paralleled or twisted nematic construction were shown by using two different measurement methods(the proposed microwave resonance method and the optical method). These measurement results of two different methods can be compared quantitatively by making the physical meaning of the response time in two different methods clear. |
