Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) In recent years, various types of applications of microwaves have been widely investigated and have been applied to the minimally invasive microwave thermal therapies. In particular, the interstitial heating is effective treatment for deep-seated tumor. In the antenna for this therapy, it is important to generate a localized heating region around the tip of the antenna. However, the input characteristics also must comply with required practical level. In this report, to improve the input characteristics, the coaxial-slot antenna with matching circuit has been introduced and influence of structural parameters on input characteristic has been investigated. Consequently, the input characteristics have been improved by using this antenna while keeping the localized heating.
