Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) The performance of a new type of multi beam planar antennas using Butler matrix as a feeding system were investigated in this study. The basic techniques for designing of an antenna are also presented in this paper. Two types of multi beam planar antenna were fabricated and tested at the C-band to estimate the performance of the antennas. The results of experiment showed that the test antennas have excellent performance in terms of both:radiation patterns and impedance characteristics. The computed pattern of the test antenna agreed well with the experimental ones. This type of antenna is therefore thought to be an effective model for a multi beam low-profile antenna.
