Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) A new SAW RFID tag has been designed by using the reflective SAW delay line. A leaky SAW propagating on a 36°YX LiTaO_3 substrate, has only shear horizontal displacement(SH-SAW). The SH-SAW has the unique characteristic of complete reflection at a 90-degree edge normal to the direction of propagation. The characteristic makes it possible to construct a reflectivedelay line. SAW-RFID tags have been fabricated by using the reflective SAW delay line on the 36°YX LiTaO_3 substrate. Experimental results showed that reflective delay lines are very suitable to make a SAW RFID tag. Moreover, it is shown some applications of the SH-SAW RFID tag on the measurement of the acoustic property of the liquid.
