Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) We examined second order nonlinear optical properties for an azo-containing poly(benzoates). In order to electric-field induced alignment and to obtain optimal poling effect, an in-situ second-harmonic generation (SHG) measu mas performed. We measured the temperature dependence of SH intensity with an applied electric field and observed a maximum SH response at a temperature of 120℃ above a glass transition temperature of about 100℃. The azo-containing poly(benzoates) showed large SHG coefficient d of about 70 pm/V.
