Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) In this study, the wave-guided organic light-emitting diodes (WG-OLEDs) with a new waveguide structure of asymmetrical type were proposed. The structure which could suppress propagation losses by electrodes and improve electrical excitation characteristic was designed on the basis of waveguide analysis and was fabricated. Accordingly, good optical waveguide characteristics and remarkable improvements in the current excitation characteristic were confirmed. Consequently, the asymmetrical type waveguide structure reported in this study had potentials to improve performances of WG-OLEDs.
