Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Anisotropic fine metal electrodes, which have sub-micrometer order fine strings of metal on substrates, should be promising candidates for a variety of applications such as semi-transparent electrode, addressing electrode or polarizing films. In this work, we succeeded in fabricating the electrodes by using a simple and low cost process. In this process, Au was deposited onto friction-transferred poly(tetrafluoroethylene) (PTFE)/Glass substrate. We evaluated the performance of the electrodes(Au/PTFE/Glass) by Atomic Force Microscope(AFM), Scanning Electron Microscope(SEM), Current-Voltage characteristic and Transmission spectra. Transmittance of the electrodes(Au/PTFE/Glass) showed 3 times higher than that of Au(same thickness)/glass. Moreover, conductivity of the electrodes showed two orders of magnitude higher than that of Indium Tin Oxide(ITO) electrodes. We also succeeded in fabricating a polarized organic electroluminescent(EL) devices by using this electrodes.
