Surface Deformation of urethane-urea azo polymer induced by focused laser beam

Abstract(in English) Photo-induced surface deformation of the films of a urethane-urea copolymer having azo benzene groups were studied by using a focused linear-polarized laser beam at a 488-nm wavelength. Shapes of the induced surface deformation deoended on the laser power, and were classified into types. A high power laser beam induced the shape having rotational symmetry as a heat mode deformation. A low power laser beam induced the asymmetric shape corresponding to a polarization direction as a photon mode deformation. A middle power laser beam induced the complicated shape as a mixed mode deformation.
