Wavelength Division Demultiplexer for CWDM Systems

Abstract(in English) In recent years, Coarse Wavelength Division Multiplexing (CWDM) systems have become more important with wide and rapid spread of the Internet. We have fabricated a four-channel wavelength division demultiplexer for CWDM systems operating at 1270, 1290, 1310, and 1330 nm, by using a diffraction grating and a polymer optical waveguide together. A wide passband of 10 nm, low insertion loss of 6 dB, and low cross talk of less than -18 dB were achieved for a TM-polarized beam incident on the grating.
