Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Influences of parametric noises due to improper four-wave mixing (FWM) in fiberoptic four-wave mixer (FWMixer) are studied. Based on the experimental results, parametric noises are represented as a formula with respect to the guard-band width that is required to enhance the optical signal-to noise ratio, and probe power. The empirical formula implies that the parametric noises are confined in the smaller wavelength region than the results from a simple theory. By using the empirical formula, we provide a scheme to determine the minimal guard-band width for required OSNR in broadband fiberoptic FWMixer. According to the scheme, the FWMixer with OSNR> 40dB is presented only requiring the 4.57 nm of the gurdband width.
