FDTD Analysis of a Modified Rooftop Mirror

Abstract(in English) A modified rooftop mirror is analyzed using the FDTD method. To increase the reflectivity, we connect a singlemode input waveguide with a multimode interference waveguide, which forms a rooftop mirror section. Calculations show that high reflectivity of 96% is achieved for the fundamental TE mode by the use of a multimode interference waveguide. Effects of change in wavelength and configuration parameters are also investigated.
