Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) This paper proposes a new method for designing unequal-length linear-phase paraunitary filter banks without redunduncy. Recently, the transform coding is a mainstream approach of image coding. JPEG is the most standard method for a block transform coding scheme. However, blocking effects have occurred by JPEG coding at low-bitrate. This problem has been solved by the lapped orthogonal transform(LOT). Although, Ringing effects has occurred by LOT at high-freqency region of images. For solving these problem, the unequal-length linear-phase filter banks has been proposed. But, one problem has been still remaining that filter banks have too much parameters to optimize themselves. So, we provide a new method that taking off redundancy in unequal-length filter banks and applying in image coding.
