Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) RVSM(Reduced Vertical Separation Minima) is a procedure to reduce the vertical separation between FL(Flight Level) 290 and FL 410 from the current 2,000 ft minimum to 1,000 ft minimum. Introduction of RVSM is expected to increase air capacity, and to reduce aircraft's fuel consumption and delay. However, it may increase air traffic controller's workload, when non-RVSM-approved aircraft mix with RVSM-approved aircraft in the same airspace. This paper shows comparison of conflict at GTC after introduction of RVSM to present state, in condition that RVSM airspace is not exclusive for non-RVSM-approved aircraft. This paper also describes the method to estimate the proportion of RVSM-approved aircraft in case that the number of conflict after introduction of RVSM is less than that of conflict at present. The average of this proportion is 67 % in a day at GTC.
