Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) This paper describes the flight time saving and fuel consumption saving of oceanic route form Japan to west coast of North America and Hawaii based on rerouting using the latest weather forecast. The PACOTS (PACific Organized Track System) is used in the central Pacific airspace, which is selected everyday based on the weather forecast issued about 24 hours before the operating time. The simulation of rerouting with time zone is carried out based on the latest forecast. The average flight time saving is 0.9 minutes and the average fuel saving is 273 lbs of rerouting for flight of 15 UTC (Coordinated Universal Time) departure time.
