Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) The current ICAO SBAS specification defines that it broadcasts ionospheric delay correction information as vertical ionospheric delays at 5 by 5 degree grid points for planar fitting correction algorithm in the user receivers. This is determined based on the ionospheric observation data experienced inside CONUS where ionospheric activity is relatively low. For using SBAS at the low magnetic latitude region where ionosphere is active, we need careful considerations if the current SBAS method achieves the required performance at such region. We have investigated the ionospheric correction performance of the current SBAS with the ionosheric observation data over Japan. It will be shown that the planar fitting algorithm provides the proper correction for quiet condition of the ionosphere, while residuals will be much higher during ionospheric storm.
