| Abstract(in English) | The function and performance of a small, light GPS data logger named BGDL recently developed by us are briefly explained. Some results of tracking experiments of some kinds of albatrosses, yaks, and sea ice are also shown. The weight of a BGDL including a battery and casing is 67g. It can fix 600 three dimensional positions following a pre set daily schedule with larger than 90% success rate even during flights of albatrosses. One drawback of BGDL is that we have to get back units to read the position data stored in the memories. Some future plans for the development of BGDL are also shown. |
