Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) An iterative reconstruction algorithm for three-dimensional microwave tomography using time-domain data is presented. Microwave pulses illuminate the underground, and scattered fields are received at the ground. The permittivity and conductivity of the illuminated part are reconstructed from the received data. The calculations of both electromagnetic fields and adjoint fields in the time domain are carried out efficiently using the finite-difference time-domain (FDTD) method. In order to weaken the influence of noise on the reconstructed result, a lowpass filter and two bandpass filters are applied to the raw data. Numerical calculations show that the algorithm can image three-dimensional mine buried in the soil not only from noise-free data but also from noisy data.
