Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) We have proposed a method to monitor movement of some targets accurately in deep depth with E-field sensor array-type radar, which are varied and fixed in underground. In this paper, we report on estimation of water level movement in a sand tank for a few hours with the E-field sensor array-type radar. We increased height of the water level in the sand tank, and we measured reflected waves from boundary between a saturated and an unsaturated layer with the E-field sensors. We analyzed the radar signals, and tried 1-D and 2-D estimation of a scattering center on the boundary. We found that a water level position estimated by the radar is related to water level in a vertical borehole, which is made in the sand tank. This implies that we could monitor movement of some targets in subsurface with the E-field sensor array-type radar which is varied and fixed.
