Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) A project for developing a compact size SAR-GPR system for landmine detection was started. The system is designed based on a stepped-frequency GPR for wide applications under various soil conditions. The system employs an array of broadband Vivaldi antenna and operates at the frequency range 2-6GHz. CMP(Common Mid Point) method is applied to the signal processing in order to enhance the target signal while reducing surface clutters and migration technique is introduced to visualize buried objects. A series of laboratory tests were conducted to prove that this array antenna GPR system effectively works under various soil conditions.
