Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) NASDA plans to use a data relay satellite for transmission of launch vehicle telemetry data. Using a data relay satellite instead of ground stations which have been used for receiving telemetry data will make it possible to increase the freedom of establishment of trajectory without restriction of ground stations locations and to deal with future requirements for space transportation flexibly. A flight demonstration test for this system will be conducted by the ETS-VIII mission scheduled in 2004, and the full-scale operation will be conducted at SELENE mission scheduled in 2005. This paper describes the process of the development, configuration, and specification of this system and the result of its validity verified by system analysis.
