Initial Checkout Result of AMSR-E and AMSR

Abstract(in English) NASDA has developed two space-borne microwave radiometers, AMSR and AMSR-E. AMSR-E and AMSR are the radio sensors for the earth observation and collect the data to understand the global circulation of water and energy. AMSR-E was designed based on AMSR and its shape and specification are almost the same as AMSR. AMSR-E was launched on NASA's spacecraft Aqua on May 4, 2002 and AMSR was launched on NASDA'S spacecraft ADEOS-II on December 14, 2002. In this paper we explain the outline of AMSR-E and AMSR and their initial checkout results. Also, we show some images obtained by AMSR-E and AMSR.
