Abstract(in Japanese) | (See Japanese page) |
Abstract(in English) | When a polarimetric meteorological radar is installed on a ship, the accuracy of polarimetric observation decreases because of the rotation of the polarimetric axis. In this paper, we first evaluate the amount of error of polarimetric observation caused by a ship motion. We assumed that the polarimetric axis was rotated by 7.5 degree, and that rain with 20 mm/h intensity existed uniformly. The error of rain intensity estimated from the phase difference between horizontal and vertical polarization (Kdp) is at most 1 mm/h. On the ohter hand, estimated value of Zdr (ratio of echo power between horizontal and vertical polarization) is -3 dB although the true value is 1.4 dB. We also propose a signal processing method to compensate the effect of the ship motion. |
