Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) The planar array antenna which is supported by the inflatable tubular ring has been developed as the deployable satellite antenna. In this antenna, the conductive non-woven fiber fabrics are used as the circular patch antennas rather than the conventional copper leaves. This type of planar array antenna is usually fed by either microstrip lines or aperture couplings. In this paper, the radiating patterns of this antenna are evaluated when it is fed by microstrip lines and aperture couplings, and it is found that the null levels of the patch antenna using the conductive non-woven fiber fabrics are higher the patch antenna using the copper leaves when fed by microstrip lines. This occurs because of the low conductivity of the patch antenna using the conductive non-woven fiber fabrics.
