| 抄録(和) | 運輸多目的衛星新1号(MTSAT-1R;平成15年夏打ち上げ予定)及び同新2号(MTSAT-2;平成16年打ち上げ)には、昭和52年以降世界気象機関(WMO)の世界気象監視(WWW)計画の一環として、我が国をはじめアジア・西太平洋の観測を継続してきた静止気象衛星(GMS)「ひまわり」シリーズの後継となる気象ミッションが搭載されている。MTSAT-1R及びMTSAT-2の気象ミッション機能は、現運用衛星GMS-5と基本的に同様であるが、観測センサーの分解能の向上、チャンネル数の増加とともに、配信機能の強化が図られ、我が国を含むアジア・西太平洋地域の各利用局に向けて高品質のデジタル形式の画像データ配信を行う予定である。これにより、MTSAT-1R及びMTSAT-2の気象ミッションが、我が国はもとより各国の気象業務の発展に一層貢献することが期待される。 |
| 抄録(英) | The meteorological missions on board MTSAT-1R and MTSAT-2 scheduled to be launched in the summer of 2003 and in 2004 respectively succeed to those of GMS "Himawari" series which have been observing meteorological phenomena over the Asian and Western Pacific regions including Japan since 1977 as a part of the global observation system of World Weather Watch (WWW) program promoted by World Meteorological Organization (WMO). The functions of the meteorological missions of both MTSAT-1R and MTSAT-2 are fundamentally the same as those of GMS-5 and some improvements of the functions such as improved horizontal resolutions of the sensors, one additional channel and enhancement of distribution function are introduced. By those functions, both satellites are planned to disseminate high quality digital image data to the users over the Asian and Western Pacific regions including Japan. The meteorological missions of MTSAT-1R and MTSAT-2 are expected to contribute still more to the development of meteorological service of each country as well as Japan. |
