Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) The first long baseline neutrino oscillation experiment is under way between KEK and Super-Kamiokande which is located in Kamioka, Gifu Prefecture. In this experiment, a neutrino beam is produced by the KEK proton synchrotron, and detected by Super-Kamiokande after 250 km of flight. Up to now, the results obtained are quite consistent with the ν_μ→ ν_r oscillation discovered by the Super-Kamiokande Collaboration through atmospheric neutrino observations. Meanwhile, the next long baseline neutrino oscillation experiment in Japan, using a high-intensity proton accelerator which is under construction at Tokai Village, has been proposed.
