| Abstract(in English) | The necessity of offering an IPv6 tunnel function with sufficient performance, during the transition to IPv6 networks is shown, and a way to realize this with the aid of network processors on a trunk card is described. The practicability of this approach is examined by measuring the packet-processing performance of a commercially available network processor and applying the result to the processor's successor. The results show the practicability of using the latter device in tunnel equipment with adequate performance for near-future network needs. |
