Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Fourth generation (4G) mobile systems are expected to provide not only higher data rate but also multimedia IP-based personal communication. In such networks, IP processing functions of routing and QoS provisioning are performed up to radio access routers located at base stations. In this paper, a two-layer downlink queuing model and scheduling algorithms for 4G wireless networks are proposed. The proposed downlink scheduling algorithms take into account handoff properties by introducing a handoff-based priority scheduling strategy. The proposed scheduling algorithms performed in IP and radio layers exploit both service differentiation and handoff priority aiming at providing QoS to different service types while minimizing the packet loss probability after handoff. The performance results obtained by simulation experiments show that the scheduling algorithms can decrease packet loss probability and packet forwarding rate.
