| Abstract(in English) | Recently the progress of networking in home electric appliances and mobile devices is ongoing with the evolution of digital consumer electronics. In the development of these equipments, the cost for the platform development has been increasing, and it can be said that the platform development is now at the turning point with respect to its concept from the own implementation principle to the infrastructure sharing. This paper raises an issue of the increase in costs related to the development of digital consumer electronics along with its evolution, takes a comprehensive view of developing platform by Linux and Java, and then discusses some technical problems and possible solutions in adopting Linux and Java in home electric appliances. |
