Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Novel automatic-tuning method of RC filters and fast automatic gain control of cascaded programmable amplifiers were verified by 0.18μm CMOS prototype IC. The proposed simple tuning circuit can tune ±30 % time-constant variation of filters within ±5 % accuracy in less than 200 micro seconds. The automatic-gain-control (AGC) circuit has adopted a unique feedforward technique with a digital timing control, which enables one-shot gain control and thus a fast settling. These circuits were used effectively to realize the IF part of a CMOS Bluetooth low-IF receiver and enabled good blocker performance and sensitivity.
