| Abstract(in English) | In the first half, author's major researches that were carried out at Electro-technical Laboratory in between 1970 and 1991 are reviewed. Researches include estimation of vocal tract area function by an adaptive inverse filtering, phoneme extraction by a phoneme filter bank, nomogram between power spectrum and vocal tract shape, and PSE speech analysis-synthesis system. In the latter part, author quotes Supplement to the President's Budget for FY2002, and expects the 21^st century's speech research to create a Standard International Phoneme Extraction System referring psued-IPA for a universal infrastructure. The system will present the bases for wide variety use of speech input/output in different speech languages efficiently. |
