Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Fatigue or stress has received a great attention in working offices and factories, recently. For example, when persons are required to judge and react a sudden change, they are affected by cumulative fatigue. Thus, we studied an evaluation method to monitor mental fatigue during VDT (Visual Display Terminal) working. We asked a subject to track a circle target on the display under different falling frequencies and goal positions. Two kinds of physiological indices including ECG and the finger plethysmogram were measured during each task. We applied a principal component analysis to these data with the progression of fatigue. The total number of this experiments was 16 for separate days. We confirmed that the prbportion offirst principal component increased when the falling speed was changed randomly, the proportion of first component decreased. However, the proportion of first principal component decreased after 15-min experiment.
