Abstract(in English) Bacteria caught in the surface of the metal coating hollow fiber membrane were effectively sterilized by passing electric current on the surface in the case of air or water. The metal coating hollow fiber membrane, however, is unfit to be an air filter because of the low air permeability and hollow shape. In this paper, a new metal coating flat sheet membrane was proposed, and the electrical bactericidal effect on the Air was examined. Same metals to coat on the surface of the membrane were tested in an initial stage. Copper was better than silver or nickel to catch bacteria in the membrane. Silver, however, was used because copper easily oxidizes. As a result, bacteria caught in the membrane were sterilized by direct electric current.
