Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) The disabled people such as whole body paralysis and aphasia due to myasthenia gravis and cerebral apoplexy have difficulty in communicating by limb and mouth. Although many alternative communication systems for the disabled people are used, they usually use the functoin of remained limb or eye by contacting. The contact type of alternative eye communication system is burdensome for the user. The nursing support system that the disabled people have no stress to indicate their intention and the nursing person smoothly takes care of the disabled people is needed. In the present study, in order to establish the smooth communication between the disabled people and the nursing person, we developed a remote nursing support system by combining a real-time eye tracking system and the socket communication based on the client-server model. In this system, the communication is possible by using non-contact type of alternative input system of eye retaining. Even if the nursing person is separated from the patient, the nursing person can reply to the patient's demand and smoothly take care of the disabled people by the interactive communication.
