Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) It is important for elucidating neural coding mechanism to discriminate a neuron in an information transmitting state from that in a spontaneous activity. In this report, we propose a method for spike train analysis using the metric space framework based on the temporal coding hypothesis. We define a metric between any two spike trains using spike occurring time to know the spike temporal structure. It is shown that the spike train in a spontaneous activity not only differs from spike train in an information transmitting state but also Poisson spike train.
