Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) In order to assist physical work capacity by a power assisted vehicle properly, we studied the relationships between the biological information and the information of the vehicles during cycling exercise. We asked thirteen subjects to cycle around the campus buildings with or without the power assist. A running course consisted of four corners and six phases with different slops. Measured signals were ECG and surface myoelectric signals as biological information, and the speed, cadence, and torque as the information of the vehicles. Moreover, the NASA-TLX, a subjective index, was also measured after the end of each trial. We analyzed signals with time-frequency domain and estimated the basic statistics. The results by total 111 trials showed that there were two different states regarding the changes in the amplitude of respiratory sinus arrhythmia (RSA) between cycling and rest. Furthermore, the enlargement of the RSA occurred with the power assist even in the same subject. The features in the information of the vehicles were also discussed in this article.
