Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) In this study, we proposed the operation of environmental control systems (ECSs) by using an input device, i.e. joystick, of an electric wheelchair. When the wheelchair receives a signal from an ECS in the neighborhood and the user of the wheelchair confirms it, a signal from the joystick is sent to the ECS. It is used for the operation of the ECS. The data transmission is performed via infrared communication link. We developed an experimental system and evaluated the fundamental feasibility of our system.
