Abstract(in English) Ultra wideband (UWB) radio technology is expected to applied to the wireless personal area network (WPAN) and the ranging in the office or the residence. The shadowing effect of LOS path due to human bodies has the big effect in the indoor environment. The strength of the diffracted wave is dominated by the size of the shadowed Fresnel zone, which is dependent on the frequency. Then, the waveform distortion is expected. This paper discusses the the UWB waveform transmission property using the diffracted waves caused by the shadowing object.
