Abstract(in English) | A novel tuning circuit with a high Q factor is presented. It consists of two resonators which are connected in parallel and have different resonant frequencies. The series resonant frequency of one resonator is set lower than a desired oscillation frequency, that of the other resonator is set higher, and the parallel resonant frequency at the connection point of two resonators is set to a desired oscillation frequency. The phase slope of this tuning circuit is steep at a desired oscillation frequency, and then the Q factor is high. The measurement results of the developed VCO with this tuning circuit achieve the phase noise of -122 dBc/Hz at 1MHz from the carrier over a 290 MHz tuning bandwidth in 19 GHz-band. This phase noise performance is the best performance at K-band. |
