Abstract(in English) A 40 GHz-band low phase noise phase locked harmonic oscillator for a high-speed optical communication is presented in this paper. In order to achieve a low phase noise performance of the phase locked harmonic oscillator, we proposed a high Q tuning circuit of the 10 GHz-band voltage controlled oscillator (VCO), and we used a GaAs HBT for the active device. This proposed phase locked harmonic oscillator realized a simple configuration and a high performance using their harmonics effectively. The measurement result of the developed VCO achieves the phase noise of -126 dBc/Hz at I MHz from the carrier in 10.675 GHz. Furthermore, the phase noise of the 40 GHz-band H-PLO output signal of -111 dBc/Hz at 1 MHz from the carrier is obtained.
