Experimental Study of a Planar type Dual-Mode Resonator

Abstract(in English) The authors proposed a composite resonator consisting of the λ/2 Stripline resonator in which the both ends are grounded and the λ/4 CPW resonator in which the one end is grounded. We also examined frequency responses of the composite resonator by using the Electromagnetic Field Simulator (Sonnet-EM). As a result, it was seen that this resonator functions as the dual-mode resonator. In this paper, for the composite resonator, which is made on the substrate of relative permittivity 10.5, we conduct an experiment of the resonator and comparative study with the simulation. It has been understood that the air that enters between substrates influences it in the stripline structure. To avoid this influence the resonator with the microstripline and use the CPW as a feeder, is analyzed and examine the frequency response. Consequently, in this case it can know that the simulation result is agreed with the experimental one.
