Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Segmentation of a dielectric resonator enables to improve its spurious property and dielectric Q. When a dielectric plate is divided into some pieces along the flat plane, the effective permittivity does not change appreciably along the divided plane, while it decreases quite an amount perpendicular to it. This anisotropy is useful for shifting the resonant frequency of unwanted modes, and also useful for improving of dielectric Q. The basic concept, numerical examples, and experimental results of resonant frequency and Q value are shown for the divided dielectric resonator.
