Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) An equivalent circuit parameter is obtained for a one-dimensional periodic grating composed of dielectric cylinders with circular cross section at plane wave incidence by the use of Lewin's algorithm. The boundary condition on the cylinder surface leads us to a set of linear algebraic equations for the effective polarization current and the dipole moments of the longitudinal and transeverse electric current. Band gap characteristics of photonic crystals are easily computed by loading the above equivalent reactance periodically in the transmission line model.
